The Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce cut the ribbon for the official Grand Opening of Mattress by Appointment of Montour Falls today (219 South Catharine Street). During the ceremony, the Sidles announced that $50 from every sale during the month of May will be donated to an athletics program at either Watkins Glen Central School or Odessa Montour Central School, buyer’s choice.

“Supporting community teams is important to us,” said Sharon Sidle. “We’ve always enjoyed being active ourselves, our children participated in many sports in high school and we know how important it is for kids to stay active. We are happy to help schools provide strong and successful athletic programs for today’s students.”

Mattress By Appointment is a national brand, offering name brand products made in America at wholesale prices directly to the consumer. Customers shop by appointment, ensuring a safe and personal experience.

“Our model ensures that customers do not have to visit a busy showroom to choose the ideal mattress,” said Sharon Sidle. “People have my undivided attention and can consider all their options without being rushed. Everyone needs a mattress, but we all need something a little different to facilitate the best, most recuperative sleep possible for us.”

During the appointment, customers are invited to “test drive” options on the showroom floor. Although all mattresses are protected with plastic, the decision points – firmness, pillow-top or quilted, your favorite position when sleeping, your partner’s sleeping habits, allergies, back pain, and other physical concerns – are still easily demonstrated.

“The Goldilocks story always come to mind when I think about choosing a mattress,” said David Sidle during the ceremony. “One will be too hard, another too soft. Eventually, you’ll find your ideal mattress. That’s the one that needs to go home with you.”

With nearly 15 mattresses available in the showroom and additional inventory on-site, most mattresses are available the same day. Custom orders typically take between seven and 10 days. Delivery within a 25-mile radius is available.

“The Sidles have put a tremendous amount of thought and energy into this new business,” said Michael Hardy, Executive Director of the Watkins Glen Chamber. “It’s exciting to have in our community the level of expertise that the Sidles bring to this important decision as well as their clear commitment to customer service.”
