Concluding its eighth year, the Arc Grand Prix Run/Walk event at Watkins Glen International (on October 30, 2021) was a tremendous success! Although a cool and wet morning, the event engaged more than 350 runners and walkers from age 6 to 78. All together, the annual fundraiser brought in more than $18,000. These resources will be used to support programs offered by the Arc of Chemung-Schuyler that benefit more than 2,000 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism as well as their families, helping people in Chemung and Schuyler counties and beyond.
The Arc simply couldn’t make this event happen without the support of community members, like the businesses who sponsor the event and people who come out to show their support by running, walking, or volunteering. This year’s presenting sponsor was Chemung Canal Trust Company. Additional sponsors included the Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce through a Tourism Assistance Program grant; MVP Healthcare; Elmira Structures; Gough Holding Corporation; Lakeside Veterinary Services; Schuyler Hospital; Cargill; Cameron Manufacturing; Goodrich Auto Works LLC; Valicenti Advisory Services; Tioga Downs; Arnot Mall; Perry & Carroll; and Ultimate Lite and Sound.
