The closest airport is Elmira-Corning Regional Airport, about a 35-minute drive from downtown Watkins Glen. Uber is available (though this is a rural area and it may be a little slower than you're used to if you're from a busy city) and there are also a number of taxi companies who serve the airport.
Closest Bus Stations
Greyhound has stations in both Corning and Ithaca (both approximately 30 minutes from downtown Watkins Glen).
By Car
Getting to Watkins Glen and Schuyler County is easy by car with major highways skirting our area. Once you leave the "main" highways you'll leave the scenic countryside that seems to unroll at your feet. Some places have red carpet... we prefer ours in green!
From points north, you will likely follow Routes 14 or 414 (which follow the west and east sides of Seneca Lake, respectively) from the New York State Thruway. We are approximately 40 miles south of the New York State Thruway (Exit 42 in Geneva).
From points south, you will likely follow Routes 15 and 81 to Interstate 86. We are approximately 18 miles north of the closest I-86/Southern Tier Expressway Exit.
From points east and west, you will likely use a route to access either the New York State Thruway to our north or Interstate 86 to our south. From there, it's easy!
