OUR CHARMING AREA OFFERS A ROBUST SELECTION OF DINING OPTIONS, SO PREPARE TO BE DELIGHTED!

When your day's exploring has left you hungry trust that our bevy of unique eateries throughout Schuyler County will enable you to find exactly what you're seeking to sate your appetite!

Grab some fresh goodies and coffee from a local bakery; grab a drink and snack among friendly residents at one of our bars; enjoy the views at a lakefront restaurant; enjoy a quick bite at a quaint café; dine on the water aboard a lunch or dinner cruise; visit a classic restaurant; or enjoy dessert at one of our fabulous ice cream shops.

There is a saying in the culinary world: what grows together, goes together. Fittingly, local chefs utilize local ingredients whenever possible to craft delicious cuisine that embodies the locavore mindset.  For generations the Finger Lakes Region and Schuyler County have both enjoyed a strong community of farmers growing a variety of produce and dairy products, and the notion of locavore, while a relatively new term for many of us, is an old, established concept in our region. So whether you sit down to enjoy a meal at a local café or restaurant, craft your own from farmers market finds, or pluck an apple from a u-pick orchard, remember that you are enjoying more than just our food. You are experiencing the tradition of our family farms, the dedication of our local chefs, and the passion of our communities.

WINE AND CRAFT BEER

The hills surrounding Seneca Lake are dotted with dozens of wineries. In fact,  at last count, there are over 60 wineries from which to choose. Whether you prefer dry, sweet, red, white, or rose, or something in between. The diversity of offerings and experiences vary as widely as your personal taste, so we’re sure you’ll find the perfect wine for you! Browse our many wineries here.

Over 30 wineries have come together over the years to form the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, which plays host to unique and fun events throughout the year. Likewise, a short drive to the east of Seneca Lake is the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail, boasting over 15 different, unique wineries and also hosting a number of fun wine and food pairing weekend events every year. The Finger Lakes Beer Trail also wends its way through Schuyler County and the Finger Lakes. Craft beer enthusiasts can try hand-crafted pale ale, amber, lager, stout, sour, or any number of specialty offerings at one of the many microbreweries in the region. Browse our craft breweries here.

Best of all, Schuyler County is ideally located at the base of Seneca Lake, which makes for easy access to not only Seneca Lake, but also Keuka Lake to the west and Cayuga Lake to the east, both of which have wineries, distilleries, and craft breweries of their own to explore! Our transportation professionals are experienced and knowledgeable, and can get you from place to place effortlessly and safely. Browse our wine and craft beverage tour options here.

CRAFT SPIRITS

Schuyler County is also home to the region’s first standalone distillery (having opened in 2009) and recently, hard cider production has taken off. From whiskey to bourbon, grappa to gin; sweet cider, dry cider, or something in the middle – the diversity of our offerings speaks for itself. Tasting your way through the Finger Lakes has never been more delicious! Learn more about our hometown distillery, Finger Lakes Distilling.
