Arts, Culture & Entertainment

Schuyler County and the surrounding area are rich in arts and culture. Take a tour through the Brick Tavern Museum in Montour Falls, which features local, regional, and statewide history, complete with rotating exhibits. Attend an art opening at the Franklin Street Art Gallery in downtown Watkins Glen. Dance and listen to live music at LaFayette Park (Tuesdays from 7-9pm, June through August) or Movies on the Lake at Clute Park (Wednesday nights in July and August). Skyland Art Barn on the east side of Seneca Lake boasts arts and crafts of all mediums, styles, and sizes - a definite must-see while you're in the area. The Glorious T Historic District in the village of Montour Fall is another stop we highly recommend. This unique collection of architecture and historical buildings is a sight to behold and the fact that it has a beautiful waterfall as its backdrop doesn't hurt either!

If you are looking for family-friendly, adrenaline-pumping action, don't miss the chance to take in a race at Watkins Glen International (also known as WGI or "The Glen") - a world-renowned road course! Watkins Glen International also plays host to several festivals throughout the year including Finger Lakes Wine Festival and the Finger Lakes Beer Festival. If you're up for an easy hour-long drive, head down Interstate 86 to the renovated and expanded Tioga Downs Casino and Resort - a full-service casino offering gaming, horse races, dining, golf, sports betting, and other resort-style amenities.

Beyond these great places to visit, the village of Watkins Glen is a short drive to other regional arts and entertainment hot spots including Corning, Hammondsport, Elmira, and Ithaca. All of which are between 20 and 30 minutes away.
