Wineries & Wine
One Of The Premier Cool-climate Wine Regions In The World!
With an incredible concentration of award-winning wineries, there is endless diversity to be found amongst our county's hundreds of different wines, whether you prefer dry, sweet, white, red, sparkling, iced, rosé, and many other styles. Over 60 wineries surround Seneca Lake and dozens of them are members of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. In fact, Seneca Lake is home to more wineries than any other lake in the Finger Lakes. Our region is renowned as one of the premier cool-climate winemaking regions in the world, boasting the ability to grow a wide variety of grapes from Riesling to Pinot Noir and nearly everything in between. You can find everything from dry to sweet wines, port, and a specialty of cool climates – ice wine!
The wine trail is a self-guided experience, best navigated by car. Whether you want to hire an expert to plan your trip for you or you're more independent and prefer to handle the itinerary and just need the transportation, our wine tour experts, limos, and other transportation, professionals are at your service!
Perhaps you'd like to try your hand at making your own wine or craft beer or are just looking for local grape juice, we have that too! As you go from stop to stop, swirling, sniffing, and sipping - we know you'll savor the incredible offerings of the region.
Arguably, nothing pairs better with wine than cheese, so it's only fitting that the Finger Lakes Cheese Alliance also winds its way through the region. Featuring destination farms that produce delicious artisan cheeses, most have regular hours and welcome visitors throughout the year. From mozzarella to cheddar, chevre to bleu - tasting your way through the area is a truly delicious experience!
